I would be delighted to leave feedback about the villa at 'Torre de Villanna' as we had a superb experience and everything went smoothly. On arrival, we were late arriving due to a flight delay and the collection of the hire car from the airport took longer than expected but the late arrival was not an issue as the villa owners lived in their own house adjoining the villa. Geni greeeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. She spoke very good English.
The villa was clean and tidy. Although the kitchen was basic it had everything we needed to cater for 2 weeks and was as per the description on the site.We ate outside every day on the patio and there were barbeque facilities. We shouldn't have bought as many clothes as we did as the washing machine was good with drying facilities too!There are 2 showers, one in the villa bathroom but another by the pool- this was very useful. The owners bought us eggs, tomoatoes and runner beans, all from their own smallholding every few days. This was a kind gesture and greatly appreciated. This villa, as attached to the owners house the 'torre' which is an amazing place (like a small castle), comes with the use of the owners swimming pool, garden with table tennis, basket ball hoop, football goal and the children were intrigued by the mini zoo (mainly birds).but not at 6.15am when the cockeral crows but we soon got used to this! Also the owners employ someone to water the garden in the morning, 8am but we were usually up by then anyway due to the heat. Conversely, our children in the pool were noisy and we were worried about disturbing the owners, but they told us they didn't mind in the slightest as they knew the children were having fun. Geni and Toni came to ensure we were ok when they saw us in the garden, but they didn't intrude on our privacy. They were very friendly. We were actually staying in part of their home so had to expect to see them around after all as they continued their lives as usual. Their teenage son joined our children in the pool on a couple of occasions and the owners took us up to the top of their tower on our last day to look at the views from the top which were amazing. The location is lovely- set on a hill with forest all around, but conveniently situated also for Girona airport (10-15km away) and Barcelona (90km away). We spent most days travelling to the local towns of historic interest, seaside (30km), around the volcanic region, and we were close enough to drive to the French town of Carcassone which took us 21/2 hours drive.Only do this though if your children enjoy travelling! With 4 children with us of different ages there was plenty to do to meet all needs- local indoor shopping centre 7km away has clothes shops and parfumeries, restaurants, cinema and bowling alley. The older children enjoyed this. The younger children enjoyed the beach, walking around Barcelona Zoo, and the waterwold resort at Lloret de Mar- 40 mins drive from the villa. There is plenty of walking, old towns to explore including Girona itself. ADefinately not for anyone without the use of a car. The nearest town is 5km away via a busy road, and the house is 700m up a steep hill from this main road so you can't walk to get provisions. Other hints- bring insect repellant and I hope you like geckos, grasshoppers, praying mantis and other wildlife as there is plenty to find around the house in the fields,woods. We saw 2 green lizards also! Thankyou to the owners for a lovely villa in a lovely setting. I hope other visitors from the UK take up this opportunity as they are sure to have a great holiday. The area in Spain is great for anyone who just wants to relax and do nothing, or explore and drive around everything, as we did. K.C. 04.08.2007
Just to let you know we had a great time at Torre de Vilanna, Bescano.It was a most enjoyable 2 weeks for all the family. The owners Toni,Geni and son patrick could not have done more for us. It was a trouble free,relaxing two weeks. I wish I was back there now! This was our second year booking through North Spain Villas.We shall return! H.O. 08.07.2007
